Professor Keith Barton talks about his early career in Belfast, why he was appointed as a Glaucoma Consultant at Moorfields, having done a corneal fellowship in Miami and how John Dart and Roger Hitchings influenced his approach to surgery.

He disucces the Trab vs tube studies, why trabeculectomy is still the go to procedure in advanced glaucoma and why it is crucial that trainees continue to be taught this type of surgery. He also explains how the LIGHT study was conceived and the profound effect this study has had on clinical practice.
